THESSALONIKI, Greece (Reuters) - Greek taxi driver Konstantinos Bekio is doing his bit to lift his passengers’ spirits amid the gloom of coronavirus lockdown, turning his cab into a nightclub complete with strobe lights and music.
“I saw that people were always stressed, sad, everyone was in a bad mood,” he said as he drove through the nighttime streets of Thessaloniki in northern Greece where he began the service during the first coronavirus lockdown in March.
“I started to put on music - to turn up the volume, and I saw people enjoyed it, they were having fun, they were having a good time, even if it was a short route, they would get out happy. That is how we started the private club taxi.”

A man has been taken to hospital after attempting to scale a fence at Rotorua s Ibis Hotel managed isolation facility last night.
About 11.30pm, police and managed isolation security saw a person scaling a 1.8-metre fence into the exercise area at the Rotorua Ibis managed isolation facility, a Managed Isolation and Quarantine spokesman said.
On its weather report for the weekend, Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) forecast misty weather conditions at first followed by mild day time with clouds and cold nights.

Wind speeds ranged from 50 to 70 mph in the Fort Collins area on Wednesday night, with one town in Larimer County recording near-100 mph winds, the National Weather Service reported.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, the town of Glen Haven had wind gusts clocked at 99 mph. Glen Haven is west of Loveland, and north of Estes Park.
